Here are the G-BUG responses to the SCC online survey for the Woodbridge Road changes, ie the Toucan Crossing and the bus lane. We urged a rethink on the design of the crossing to a ‘straight across’ design with minimal delay for cyclists. For the bus lane (which cyclists can share), we welcomed the exclusion of HGVs and 24 hour operation, but overall we objected on the grounds that an opportunity has been missed for a more comprehensive redesign of Woodbridge Road to provide improved inbound – and also outbound – facilities for cyclists. The survey for the associated College Link + Cycle Route is still open till 4th September and we will make a separate response to that.
