About us

West Surrey Cycling Club (WSCC) was founded nearly 100 years ago, and formerly known as West Surrey CTC. As a branch of Cycling UK we have over 200 active members who live in and around Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere, and Camberley.

You don’t have to be a member to join a ride, and we cater for all levels and ability in a way that is social, enjoyable and safe. Last year we organised 350 rides and covered over 120,000 miles in the gorgeous scenery of Surrey and surrounding counties, led by experienced ride leaders.

Try out one of our rides…

We’re into leisure and social cycling, so there’s every chance there will be a ride for you. Perhaps you haven’t been out on the bike for a while, or are concerned about busy roads. Well, try out one of our rides. Look at our rides, check out the start point or give a Group Leader a ring.  Just let the ride leader know you’re new when you turn up, and an experienced rider will be assigned to you.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not used to riding in a group, we’ll help you quickly get used to it. If you enjoy the experience and decide to come on a regular basis, we’ll invite you to join Cycling UK.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning that we have a healthy mix of male and female riders, so you’ll be in good company.

Have a look at our website for lots more information about us and see our calendar of rides to find one that suits you..

Our ethos:  No-one left behind, bring everyone home safely.

Information about the group rides

Each week we offer a number of recreational rides aimed at different riding abilities, and we have a range of starting locations so that we can enjoy different areas of the countryside. Our rides are fun and friendly and include refreshments stops along the way.  See our Rides Calendar for all our rides.

We have four Ride Categories and we suggest you select a ride level you feel most comfortable with. Take a look at the various Ride Groups to find a ride at the right level, on a day that suits with a convenient start point. Feel free to speak to the relevant Ride Group Leader for more information.

Our rides start from a variety of Start Points on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and each ride is led by experienced Ride Leaders. You can contact a Ride Leader directly if you wish.
