An exciting town-wide e-bike hire scheme has come to Guildford (similar to the “Boris” bikes in London). The scheme will have more than 300 e-bikes at 50 hubs located across Guildford, with a possible 90 e-bike expansion to Godalming. Beryl will be operating the Council’s scheme.
As part of this, a Cycle Network Study was carried out to determine whether there are enough suitable cycling routes in the town to make a bike hire network viable (report here). GBUG is keen to use the outcomes of the study to highlight where cycling routes are good and where they need improving. Join our committee to become involved! (Update Sep 2024: The e-bike hubs have started to be installed around town).
